Feeding, Powering and Clothing a Hungry Nation
Well worth the wait.... we promise! It's taken a bit of coordination to get the pro photos taken this year, with our resident photographer travelling a LOT for work (taking photos - he's big in demand) so we had to wait until he was home from a trip up North Qld to get our golden girl in front of his lens. But the results are WELL worth the wait. Enjoy...

Here she is! The finished Product... We had hoped to get our professional photos taken but Mr Bullas has been away interstate and we didn't have the artwork finished before he went away. We've done some temporary snaps to show off our handiwork, but will be getting some photos done next week. Apparently it takes a couple of hours and we have a LOT of detail in our cow. But those will come later. And we still have a couple of blades of grass missing that haven't arrived in the post yet... sigh. So enjoy the finished product... It's been wonderful having the Archibull Journey for 2018 and we look forward to sharing our cow with the Judges when they come through in October. WOW! What a week.... We've spent the week pulling all the little pieces together (literally) to reach the final product. Whilst we could sit here and parrot on about it all, its much easier to show you some photos. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words! Take a gander at the gallery and see what you think...
Since we don't have the cow back from last year, we have had to rethink the skateboard for our cow for #Archibull2018. Fortunately, our resident Superman, Mr Edwards, has yet again come to our rescue and helped put together another skateboard for our cow. We find it makes her easier to move and gives us another platform with which to tell the tale of cow (or in this case the chicken). But the surface of the platform is not always the easiest to paint, so we have gone with a conservative approach - taken our teachers advice on surface preparation and applied a high quality primer on the surface. Down side? It needs at least 24 hours to cure. That didn't impress us... we don't really want to have to wait at this point in the game. But be patient we must. How cool is this? LEGO truly knows no limits! Toys for big kids, not matter the age! With all that yellow floating around, we don't want you to think we are looking at a mono-chromatic cow again for 2018. So here's a flash of colour to help break up the monotony. And it might give you a little more clue as to what is going on with the cow.
We're not spending all of our time prepping and painting. Where would the fun be in playing with a LEGO cow if we didn't get the chance to play with more LEGO? After all... you can never have too much lego. We'll let you guess what we're building - but there are no instruction booklets for this one!
This is too cute to keep to ourselves... And the chicken dance is EVERYONE's favourite (they will just probably never admit it!) |
